About
Founder by necessity. Builder by temperament.
I’m Tobias Patch. I build companies, software, and operating systems for hard problems.
My work sits at the intersection of insurance claims, technology, and the people expected to make difficult decisions with incomplete information. I founded Brelly and build InsuranceAppraisal.com because those systems should work better than they do.
I care about products that survive contact with reality. That means staying close to the work, listening for where the process breaks, and treating software as leverage rather than theater.
What I write about
Company building, software and AI, decisions under uncertainty, and the practical work of improving a system without pretending its constraints do not exist.
